The Lord’s Prayer (Our Father)
The prayer taught by Jesus to his disciples.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Hail Mary
A prayer asking for the intercession of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.

Glory Be (Doxology)
A short hymn of praise to the Holy Trinity.
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Apostles’ Creed
A statement of faith summarizing key Christian beliefs.
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried;
he descended into hell;
on the third day he rose again from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

The Rosary
A form of prayer used in the Catholic Church, involving the repetition of Hail Mary, Our Fathers, and Glory Bes, typically while meditating on specific events in the lives of Jesus and Mary.
Structure:
- Sign of the Cross
- Apostles’ Creed
- Our Father (once)
- Hail Mary (three times)
- Glory Be (once)
- Mysteries of the Rosary (Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries)
Each decade of the rosary consists of:
- One Our Father
- Ten Hail Mary
- One Glory Be
- (Optional) Fatima Prayer: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.”
The Act of Contrition
A prayer expressing sorrow for sins and a resolution to do better.
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You,
and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of heaven
and the pains of hell,
but most of all because they offend You, my God,
who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace,
to confess my sins, to do penance, and to amend my life.
Amen.
The Angelus
A prayer commemorating the Incarnation, traditionally recited at 6 AM, noon, and 6 PM.
The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.
Hail Mary, full of grace…
Behold the handmaid of the Lord,
Be it done unto me according to thy word.
Hail Mary, full of grace…
And the Word was made flesh,
And dwelt among us.
Hail Mary, full of grace…
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us pray.
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord,
Thy grace into our hearts,
that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son,
was made known by the message of an angel,
may by His Passion and Cross
be brought to the glory of His Resurrection.
Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
